Dr. Rosalind Ghafar Rogers PhD - Providing Culturally Responsive Psychological Services and Support to Afghan Adults and Children

Description

The webinar will inform attendees on the various immigration statuses of newly arrived Afghans and the diversity of their geographical, educational, and professional backgrounds. The mental health needs and cultural considerations of newly arrived Afghan men, women, and children will be discussed with a particular focus on the importance of cultural competency and how psychologists and other mental health professionals can provide culturally responsive support services to these subpopulations. Dr. Rosalind Ghafar Rogers is an Afghan-American Licensed Mental Health Counselor and holds a PhD in International Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology She has over 10 years of clinical experience providing individual, group, and family therapy, and specializes in addiction/substance use, mood and co-occurring disorders, trauma, as well as refugee trauma.
